All franchisees, operating partners and directors will be required to attend and successfully complete the initial training course, lasting up to 25 days. Franchisees will also receive up to twelve days of onsite help on location around the time of the business launch, likely divided across three onsite visits. As a franchised owner, you will have access to all Century Oaks trademarks, tools, and technologies. We’ll also present you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you run your facility properly on a day-to-day basis.
We do not expect franchise owners to have experience in the senior care industry. You should, however, have the ability to develop relationships effectively, and possess networking skills, patience, persistence and determination. Of course, we will provide the tools and training you need to run your own Century Oaks facility. We do also expect that you have the right amount of capital to invest in the franchise.
For a leased facility, the estimated required investment for a single franchise unit ranges between $271,807 and $424,538, including a franchise fee of $50,000 (investment levels are of course higher if a franchise owner opts to build-out his/her own facility per Century Oaks’ specifications). As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have the capital needed to adequately fund your new business.
Franchisees will be required to pay royalties that are equal to 7% of revenues. There may also be monthly fees for technology services provided. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of procedures, marketing tools, training programs, and product and systems upgrades.
Franchisees are required to spend a minimum of either 2% of gross revenues or $1,000 per month (whichever is greater) on local marketing efforts. Franchisees will also contribute up to 2% of gross revenues into a system marketing fund. Collected funds are used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Century Oaks brand and fund the creative costs to develop any local franchise marketing materials.
We do offer the option to lease built-out facilities to qualified franchisees. However, we do not offer direct financing to franchisees. We may be able to provide references to qualified financing or lending agencies, on a case-by-case basis.
The initial term of your franchise agreement is ten years, with a ten-year successor term.
